Can I bring a stroller?
Strollers or baby joggers are only allowed in the 3 mile walk. These participants are required to line up in the back at the start. No strollers or baby joggers will be allowed in any of the running events. Can I bring my dog to Lakeside Park? Sorry, no dogs or any other animals are allowed on any of the courses due to insurance and liability reasons or within Lakeside Park (Fond du Lac city ordinance). What is chip timing? All events will be chip timed. There will be an electronic chip on the back of your bib number which will automatically record finishing times for participants. Participants in these events will cross a timing mat on the ground at the finish line. Do not remove the chip or foam cover from the back of your bib number. Do I have to wear my bib number? Yes. All participants must be wearing a bib number on the front and outermost layer of clothing. Failure to do so will result in your finishing time not being recorded and could result in other participants' finishing times to be recorded incorrectly. Can I use an iPod, Cell Phone, etc., while I'm participating? Cell Phones and iPods are allowed for listening to music but we ask that you keep volume levels to a reasonable level in order to hear instructions from race officials, law enforcement and course marshals. Do I have to register twice if I want to enter more than one race? Participants who wish to enter both the 5 mile run and 2 mile run are required to have a separate bib number for each event and must register twice and pay for each. Another example would be a child who participates in the 3 mile walk and then runs in one of the kids events. What if I pre-register for an event but want to switch on race day? Participants must complete the event they registered for in order to appear in the official results. Participants wishing to switch races (from the 5 mile to the 2 mile for example) are required to stop by the information table at packet pick-up on Friday before the race at Woodworth Middle School or on race day at the registration area in the north shelter on Oven Island within Lakeside Park. Other important course and finish line information: Participants who are not registered are not allowed on any of the courses and may not cross the finish line. Registered participants are only allowed to cross the finish line one time. Please do not go back out onto the course to meet up with a friend and cross the finish line a second time. Bandits are not allowed. No dogs, bicycles, in-line skates, rollerblades or rickshaws are allowed on the courses or inside Lakeside Park at any time. The only exception is strollers in the 3 mile walk (must line up in the back). Participants who fail to meet these guidelines will be disqualified and face being banned from future Walleye Run/Walk events. |
